I have a confession... I have to much linen... I know, it's not really possible, but I do... our Barony just put in a huge order of fabric that I was in charge of, and it was WAY TO EASY to just add 4 yards on to this colour, because, man, that's nice.... Anyways, I think I bought about 10 different colours, all between 4 and 6 yards, and a 20yard bold of just white.... I have no idea what I'm going to do with it all!!!

A 47 metre weekend [Oct. 24th, 2006|03:14 pm]

Hi my name is Isabel, and I bought 47 meters of fabric this weekend.

It's been two days since I bought any more fabric, but I have taken it out and admired it.

I bought 20 metres of 3.5 oz white linen and 20 metres of 5.7 oz white linen over the internet, and I got to pick it up this last weekend.  Really, this was an economical purchase, as this will last me a couple of years of lining bodices and doublets at $7 a metre rather than $20 at my local store, really, it's a good thing....

And then I went shopping in some stores; after all, I was only in town for a few days and there could be some finds I didn't find, if I didn't look...  So I found a Christmas panel to show the 21 Days of Christmas.  One for me, and one for my Mom so we can have fun comparing our work.  And an Animal ABC panel that makes up into a cloth book, and one for a friend [all of my friends have gotten wed this last few years, and the babies are starting to arrive].  And some additional animal alphabet pieces to match, if there are scraps, to make a quilt or pillow.  REally, its reusing, and isn't that good?

And then I found a larger piece of upholstery fabric in black and tan and organgey gold, for my man for a Frock Coat.  It was 20% off for members, and I took the rest of the roll.

And on the clearance table I found a piece of cotton in a cream pattern on ecru background, really, it was 40% off, and with a few beads it will be very Elizabethan.  It will help me stay cooler in my full summer Elizabethan, and that's a good thing.  I will be reusing my fabric by wearing my costumes again and again, just with different sleeves and foreparts....

My name is Isabel, and I am a fabricaholic!
